Workshop Terms and Conditions

Bricks and Blocks Junior Engineers - Workshop Terms and Conditions

1. Care of Equipment

Students are expected to treat all robotics equipment with respect and care. In cases of deliberate damage, parents/guardians will be held financially responsible for the repair or replacement costs of the damaged equipment.

2. Arrival Responsibilities

Parents/guardians are responsible for ensuring their child arrives at the designated workshop classroom.

3. Departure Procedure

At the conclusion of each workshop, parents/guardians who are picking up are asked to wait outside the classroom for students to exit. This practice ensures that the pack up process is complete and there is a safe and orderly dismissal process.

4.  Transition to Classrooms (Morning Workshops Only)

In the final five minutes of morning workshops, students who have completed their pack-up responsibilities may be released to proceed directly to their classrooms. This transition helps maintain punctuality and minimises disruption to the school day.

5. Notification of Absence

Parents/guardians must notify Bricks and Blocks at least 24 hours in advance if a student will miss a class due to illness, family emergencies, or unavoidable conflicts. Notification can be made via email or phone. In cases of emergency or illness, notification should be provided as soon as possible.

6. Make-Up Classes

Make-up workshops may be offered but only if space and scheduling permit. Priority for make-up workshops will be given to absences due to illness, family emergencies, or unavoidable conflicts. Makeup opportunities will not be offered when notification of absence is less than 24hr.

7. Refunds & Credits

Term workshop fees are based on whole term enrolments, not individual attendance days. No refunds or credits will be issued for missed workshops, except in the case where Bricks and Blocks cancel a workshop. Extended absences (e.g., medical leave) may be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

8. Program Cancellations

In the rare event that staff are unavailable, Bricks and Blocks reserves the right to cancel a scheduled workshop. If this is the case, we offer either a make-up workshop or a refund.

9. Late Pick Ups

Late pick up fees will be charged if you cannot collect your child at the end of a workshop. Late pick up fees are charged at $20 per 15 minutes.

10. Parent Attendance Policy

To ensure a safe, consistent, and distraction‑free learning environment for all participants, parents and guardians are not permitted to remain inside the workshop room during sessions. All workshops are facilitated by educators who hold valid Blue Cards. Limiting the number of adults in the room helps protects the comfort and privacy of all children and ensures that the available space is used safely and effectively.
